Arizona Divorce Records
The Clerk of the Superior Court maintains Arizona divorce records in the county in which the dissolution of marriage or decree was granted. It is necessary to request copies of these records from the Clerk’s Office. The Arizona Department of Health Services, Office of Vital Records does not have marriage or divorce records available – only copies of birth and death certificates may be requested there.

Divorce Records And Arizona Law
Unlike Florida, an “open records” state, Arizona is a “closed records” state which means that not everyone may view and request divorce documents and similar vital record information belonging to someone else. Arizona divorce records are not considered public information until 50 years after the date that the dissolution of marriage was granted. If your name is not one of the persons listed on a divorce document, you may have difficulty obtaining a copy of the record unless the Clerk of the Superior Court approves the request such as in a legal or other authorized matter.
